Job Opportunity: Seasonal Cemetery Maintenance

The Municipality of Brockton is accepting applications for Seasonal General Maintenance of Cemeteries. The position is from May to October 2016.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the General Maintenance position will perform a variety of cemetery related duties including but not limited to landscape maintenance (cutting grass, trimming, pruning); and general cemetery maintenance, including but not limited to grave marking and stone care. This position would include working outdoors in all types of weather and require the successful applicant to stand for long periods of time.

Applicants must have a basic understanding and some experience in landscape maintenance and outside work. The incumbent must have the ability to safely operate a variety of tools and equipment related to landscape maintenance. The successful candidate will have the ability to work in a team environment, accept and follow verbal and written instructions, complete duties as assigned to an acceptable standard with minimal supervision and follow all Municipality of Brockton Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.

Applicants must have a valid “G” Ontario Driver’s License in good standing during the course of employment. CSA approved steel-toed footwear is required for this position. A valid Standard First Aid Certificate with a level “C” CPR is mandatory for all seasonal positions and must be submitted with your application. A seasonal job application form must accompany your cover letter and resume.
