Is $1,000,000 Too Much For Morris-Turnberry To Blow Fighting Backyard Chickens

According to documents we have received, M-T has refused to release to the Public how much they have spent on legal fees enforcing by-laws.

You all know by now that the “laws” our council creates are selectively applied. If you ask too many questions or attempt to assert your Rights these by-laws will be used against you. They will claim there was an anonymous complaint and that gives them the right to enter your home or property. They will trespass, they will peek in your windows, and in North Huron they made it law that you can’t have steel doors or bars on your windows to protect yourself from them.

In a horrific case in Morris-Turnberry one family has been targeted, and to M-T council’s dismay they have not rolled over submissively for a tummy rub and a pickpocketing. Instead they are fighting for their Right to make the world a better place with their animal rescue located at the very far edge of Lowertown, adjacent to farmer’s fields and woodlots.

Many properties in the area have chickens, bunnies, wild carrot on their lawn, a beer fridge in their porch, new strong steel door, or a milkweed plant in their flower bed for the monarchs…all of which are illegal, and in their eyes grounds for complete home and property inspection without warrant or consent.

M-T council believes they have the power to spend unlimited taxpayer’s dollars on legal fees targeting one or two families they hate. Virtually every property in NH and M-T will violate at least one by-law, and everyone “fears” the by-law guy. That’s why so few will take a stand for what is right, they fear their government and what will happen if they speak up.

At a landowners meeting a North Huronian stated they have spent $300,000 in legal fees fighting back against North Huron and Huron County. If/When they win, taxpayers will likely be on the hook for those legal expenses. It is possible M-T has already spent $100,000 in legal fees fighting backyard chickens, we don’t know, and apparently they don’t want YOU to know either.

If your neighbour had a couple laying hens in their backyard, how much should your council spend on legal fees if the chicken owners assert their Rights? $10,000? $1,000,000?

Shouldn’t your council disclose how much they have spent on enforcing these by-laws?

The next M-T meeting is Tuesday 19July2016.
