Zackary SMITH Was Arrested

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – The Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver with operation while impaired after he was stopped for speeding on Highway 11 in the Town of Huntsville.

On May 2, 2024, at approximately 11:55 p.m., police were conducting speed enforcement when a vehicle was stopped for travelling at 164 kilometers per hour (km/hr) in a posted 100 km/hr limit. Upon speaking with the driver, police were led into an impaired driving investigation and an Approved Screening Device (ASD) demand was made. As a result, the accused was arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.  

As a result of the investigation, Zackary SMITH, 30 years of age, from the Town of Huntsville was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – Blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform stunt – Excessive speed

·      Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

The driver had their license suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for fourteen days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on June 18, 2024.
