OPP Learning To Ride Bicycles – Patrols Start Once Training Wheels Removed?

(SOUTH BRUCE, ON) – Members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) will be out in the communities on bicycle patrol this summer. Several new officers have been trained on how to operate police bicycles. One of the biggest advantaged to bicycle patrol is its ability to go where traditional patrol vehicles can’t. Trail systems will be patrolled throughout the South Bruce Detachment area.

“Our objective is to put officers in our communities engaging with the public on trails, beach fronts and areas that see a large amount of foot and pedal traffic”- Detachment Staff Sgt. Deb McClure.

Community education and engagement is a summer focus for the members of South Bruce OPP.
