(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) – On November 27, 2015 at approximately 11:36 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded a driving complaint on Highway 89, Wellington North Township about a Chevrolet Sport Utility Vehicle. Police located the vehicle and followed it in to a driveway. Upon speaking with the male driver, police determined that his ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by a drug and he was placed under arrest. He was transported to an OPP Operation Centre for further testing.
The driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
54-year-old Eric HAFNER of Wellington North Township has been charged with Impaired Driving by Drug contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on January 12, 2016.
