17 Collision In Perth Attributed To First Snowfall

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) – This past weekend, Perth County received the first snowfall of the season which resulted in some challenging driving conditions.

From shortly after the noon hour on Saturday November 21, 2015 until late Sunday November 22, 2015, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a total of 17 single motor vehicle collisions.

The majority of these collisions involved vehicles sliding off of roadways into ditches. One vehicle rolled, another struck a hydro pole a third one struck a tree and a fourth one collided with a road sign. The injuries to the drivers ranged from none to minor cuts and bruises.

Remember, road conditions are not an excuse for collisions. Drivers need to slow down and change their driving habits as they present themselves. Winter driving requires the full attention of every motorist. Proper pre-trip planning and vehicle inspections will make for a much safer trip.

Winter driving in Perth County can be challenging, be prepared and be safe.
