(HAWKESBURY, ON) – The Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two individuals after a vehicle failed to stop for police.
On February 27, 2024, at approximately 03:35 a.m. on Highway 417, an OPP officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle at mile marker 62 in The Nation municipality. The vehicle failed to stop.
At approximately 04:30 a.m. on Highway 417 near mile marker 4, the same vehicle was stopped by officers using a tire deflation device.
As a result, 19-year-old male Ahmed OUMALLOUK from Montreal was arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada (CC):
- CC 320.17 Adult flight from peace officer
- CC 353(1)(b) Adult possessing automobile master key
- CC 145(5)(a) Adult failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
- CC 351(1) Adult possession break in instruments
- CC 88 Adult possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
Abdelaziz SENOUCI, a 21-year-old male from Montreal, was also arrested and charged with the following under the Criminal Code of Canada (CC):
- CC 353(1)(b) Adult possessing automobile master key
- CC 733.1(1) Adult fail to comply with probation order – 2 counts
- CC 355(b) Adult possession property obtained by crime under $5000
- CC 351(1) Adult possession break in instruments
- CC 88 Adult possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
Both males were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court on March 20, 2024 at the L’Orignal Court of Justice.
