21 Year Old From Crediton Arrested After Rolling Vehicle

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Driver charged with Impaired after vehicle leaves roadway and enters ditch.

On March 17, 2024, at 3:15 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to Harris Street in Thames Centre, for the report of a single vehicle that left the roadway, entered the ditch and rolled.

The driver fled the scene, however, was located a short distance from the collision scene.

It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol and was placed under arrest.

As a result, Nicholas CLARE, a 21-year-old of Crediton, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous operation

·      Fail to remain

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on April 29, 2024.

The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.
