Town Staff Rape Coffers As North Huronians Cower Due To Battered Taxpayer Syndrome – Please Sir, Can I Pay Some More?

First a few facts that even council can not deny:

There are no infrastructure reserves, our infrastructure is collapsing and rotting due to zero maintenance despite North Huron having over 120 staff. Town staffing expense has ballooned in the last 4 years, rubber stamped by council every single time.

Staff workload decreases year after year as they sell off and/or bulldozed properties they let rot, and due to contracting out everything from mopping floors to painting the front door on Town Hall.

Council’s criminal disregard for 224 of the Municipal Act has resulted in Town Staff being completely in charge. Town staff get to write their own job descriptions and will be getting massive raises just before the next election. Town staff have been raping North Huron’s coffers for years, making Wingham the highest taxed town in Ontario, and it’s getting much, much worse.

A CAO that spoke out has been replaced with someone who’s only interest is giving more money to himself, town staff and council. This move initially cost taxpayers about $20,000 in “consulting fees” to find this prize, and will cost untold millions as raises and bonuses are thrown around to staff and loyalists.

Winghamites have gone from approximately 150 opportunities to question council per term (36/year) to zero. Winghamites that can get to Belgrave during supper hour on the 14th may be allowed to speak. This will likely be the last time for Public and Press questions until after the 2018 election.

The police board has been allowing the Wingham Police to patrol off the square mile for the last few years to get them on the Sunshine list, and to skew the OPP pricing numbers. The police board stalled for years and years before getting OPP pricing, clearly to inflate hours during those years in an utterly evil attempt to keep the Wingham Police, as their data is virtually useless to the Real Police. We do know the OPP will cost about $355/property after the “transition period” is over, and that is half of what the Wingham police charge.

There can be no doubt North Huron is corrupt. The question is, what are you going to do about it?

Are you going to continue to cower in fear suffering from Battered Taxpayer Syndrome or are you going to re-insert your spine and stand up for what you know is Right?
