17 Year Old Ejected In Hwy 10 Collision Pronounced Deceased – Name Released

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On November 4, 2017 at approximately 1:44 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) together with Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a report of a serious single motor vehicle collision on Bruce Road 10, just north of Highway 21, in South Bruce Peninsula.

Investigation revealed that a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta carrying two male occupants was being operated southbound on Bruce Road 10. The vehicle left the roadway, entered the west ditch and struck a hydro pole. The driver, who was ejected from the vehicle, was transported to hospital via ambulance where he was pronounced dead by the attending physician.

The deceased has been identified as 17-year old Austin TRASK of the Township of Chatsworth.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled for November 6, 2017 in Owen Sound.

The passenger, a 17-year old male from Owen Sound, was not injured but was transported to hospital as a precaution.

The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit (TTCI) attended the scene and is assisting Grey County OPP with the investigation which is continuing.
