Council claims they will save $50,000/year by reducing garbage pickup to every other week in North Huron. We all know taxes won’t be lowered because of this, and we all know those savings will end up in town staff pockets again in the form raises and bonuses.
You may have noticed that taxes keep going up, services keep decreasing, infrastructure still not maintained with no reserves, and town staffing expense is ballooning while their workload constantly decreases.
Council gave away $250,000 to the hospital, and now claims they don’t have the money to pick up our garbage every week. Oops, gave the money away, just sit at home with your rotting garbage and try to keep the rodents away. Then they will force you to pay $10 to get rid of that putrid bag of trash at the landfill, even if it has a sticker on it.
We have the money to pay two town staffers to empty those little green garbage cans attached to some poles in town. One just sits there doing nothing. How about they pickup the trash in their pickup truck and we save $100,000/year. Town staff won’t do that, why would they when they literally get paid to sit on their ass and do nothing.
