On Sunday October 12, 2014 at approximately 545 am a Barrie Police Officer on routine patrol located a stopped vehicle in the intersection of Black Cherry Cres and Victorway Drive.
The officer found the driver to be slumped over the wheel of the driver’s seat, the vehicle was running, headlights on, the vehicle left in drive with the driver’s foot on the brake pedal.
The vehicle was placed in park, keys removed from the ignition at which time the driver was awoken.
Officers quickly determined that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and placed the driver under arrest for care and control while impaired.
The driver was then transported to the station where he provided breath samples almost two times over the legal limit.
The 21 year old male was released with a future court date where he will face Care and Control and Over 80 mgs charges.
