Repeat Offender Arrested By Saugeen Shores Police

On Thursday, January 14 an officer on patrol and members of the Criminal Investigations and Drugs Unit observed a male, known to them, to be operating a motor vehicle near Railway Street.  This male is currently subject to a recognizance of bail to not occupy the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle.

The male was placed under arrest and searched. Officers located several small packages on the male containing suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl.

A 64 year old Southampton man has been charged with:

  1. Fail to comply with a release order – do not occupy driver’s seat of a motor vehicle
  2. Fail to comply with a release order – do not possess drugs
  3. Breach of Probation
  4. Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl
  5. Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking  – Methamphetamine.

The man was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.
