Festive RIDE Underway – 682 Drunk Drivers Caught Last Season

(BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is conducting its annual Festive R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) campaign from November 24, 2012 to January 2, 2013.

Last year, during the 2011-2012 holiday season, the OPP charged 682 drivers with impaired driving and an additional 583 drivers were issued Warn Range suspensions for registering a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) between .05 and .08.

The OPP is reminding drivers that any amount of alcohol can impair one’s ability to drive and that the OPP can issue an immediate roadside driver’s licence suspension to drivers who register a BAC in the Warn Range” of .05 to .08.

If you plan on drinking – plan to not drive. Instead
