(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On March 24, 2017 at 10:33 p.m., members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police received a traffic complaint on Highway 69 in Carling Township.
Investigation revealed that the call was placed to police after the driving behaviour was observed as well as damage to the vehicle. Police located and attempted to stop the motor vehicle. After a short distance, the vehicle stopped and police spoke with the driver. Police determined that the driver had consumed alcohol.
As a result of the investigation;
Victor LEFEBVRE, 64 years of age from Tottenham, Ontario, was arrested and charged with;
Driving While Ability Impaired, contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC)
Driving With More Than 80mgs, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the CC
Possession of Schedule II Substance, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Fail To Stop For Police, contrary to section 216 of the Highway Traffic Act
Fail To Remain, contrary to section 200(1)(a) of the Highway Traffic Act
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on April 20, 2017.
