(Oro-Medonte, ON) – On Monday, May 25th, 2015, officers from the Barrie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to investigate a theft of a motor vehicle from the Shanty Bay Area in Oro-Medonte Twp.
Sometime between 10 pm on the 24th of May and shortly before 7 am on the 25th of May, suspect(s) stole a silver 2011 Ford Escape that was parked overnight in a Barrie Terrace residential driveway. Several parked motor vehicles in the area were also entered and rummaged through.
The members of the Barrie OPP cannot stress enough the importance of locking your motor vehicle while at home and not leaving valuables unattended in your vehicle.
Police are reminding residents to contact the OPP Communications Centre immediately at 1-888-310-1122 to report any suspicious activity or suspicious vehicles in the area. Information such as suspect physical descriptions, suspect vehicles and direction of travel are useful tools for investigators.
