(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – A member from the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting radar on Highway 400 at Oastler Park Drive in Seguin Township on March 31, 2014. At approximately 10:50 a.m. a vehicle was observed travelling at a greater speed then the posted speed limit of 100 km/h. The officer conducted a traffic stop and upon investigation, determined the driver to have several driver’s licence suspensions.
Rande GAUTHIER, 24 years of age from Marhkam, was charged with the following:
– Driving while Disqualified – Court Order, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
– Driving while Under Suspension, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) – 2 counts
– Speeding, 1 – 49 km/h over the posted speed limit, contrary to the HTA
The accused will appear before the Parry Sound Ontario Court of Justice on May 1, 2014 to answer to his charges.
The vehicle was towed and will be impounded for a minimum of 45 days.
