(Kemptville, ON) – Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police and the North Grenville Fire Department were dispatched to a tractor trailer fire on Highway 416, North Grenville.
Shortly before 7:30 a.m. on this date, a tractor-trailer carrying asphalt caught on fire. The investigation revealed that a brake drum seized causing the tire rim to heat and ignite.
The 63 year old male driver from Carp, Ontario was able to contain the fire with an extinguisher until the Fire Department arrived on the scene. There were no injuries.
The highway was reopened after 45 minutes.
