(Bancroft, Ontario) – On The 27th day of June 2015, while on routine patrol in the Township of Limerick, an officer with the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) observed an off road vehicle being operated on Highway 62 in the vicinity of St. Ola Road. The vehicle was being operated by a male driver and had one female passenger, and neither rider was wearing a helmet.
The officer initiated a traffic stop, and after speaking with the driver of the vehicle determined that he had been drinking. Following investigation by the officer, the male was arrested and transported to the Bancroft Detachment of the O.P.P., where he provided breath samples to determine the concentration of alcohol in his blood.
Charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle; driving with more than 80mgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood; and operating an off road vehicle without a helmet is 48 year old Bill White of the Municipality of Hastings Highlands. He was released on a promise to appear, with a first appearance date set for the 28th of July 2015.
