(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On December 20, 2014 at approximately 11:15 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the driver of a 2003 Saturn that was being operated in an erratic manner on Highway 6 near the Eighth Line of Nichol in Centre Wellington Township.
Police spoke with the driver and immediately detected the strong odour of fresh marihuana emanating from the motor vehicle. Officers observed a green leafy substance believed to be marihuana in a clear baggy. The marihuana was seized and the male was placed under arrest.
Thomas RIGGS age 54 of Guelph has been charged with Possession of Marihuana Under 30 Grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on January 23, 2015 to answer to the charge.
