This Week In Russell County

(RUSSELL COUNTY, ON) In the week of March 16, 2015 to March 23, 2015, Russell County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 248 occurrences. Among those occurrences OPP responded to 11 collisions, 4 thefts and 7 domestics.

As a result of those occurrences, 48 people were charged with various offences.

Domestic

(Rockland, ON) On March 17, 2015 OPP Constables responded to a domestic related incident on Dalhia Street in Rockland. At that location a female reported that her ex-partner was observing her house when knowing he was not supposed to be near her house as indicated by the courts.

A 37 year old male, from Alfred-Plantagenet will have to appear in L’Orignal court on April 1, 2015 to answer to the following charges:

CC 145(3) Fail to Comply with Recognizance X 2

Domestic

(Embrun, ON) On March 19, 2015 OPP Constables responded to a 9-1-1 call on Castlebeau Street in Embrun. At that location a male reported that he was assaulted by his partner. The officers investigated the complaint and concluded that a criminal offence had been committed.

A 44 year old female, from Embrun, will have to appear in L’Orignal court on April 15, 2015 to answer to the following charge:

CC 266 Assault – Spousal

Domestic

(Limoges, ON) On March 21, 2015 OPP Constables responded to a 9-1-1 call on Limoges Road in Limoges. At that location it was reported that during an argument a male was assaulted by his partner. The officer looked at the complaint and concluded that an offence had been committed

A 33 year old female, from Limoges will have to appear in L’Orignal court on April 8, 2015 to answer to the following charge:

CC 266 Assault – Spousal

Drugs

(Embrun, ON) On March 20, 2015 OPP Constables stopped a vehicle on St-Marie Road in Embrun. The traffic stop led to the discovery of a significant amount of an illicit drug in the vehicle.

Sylvain-Paul PRESEAULT, 29 years old from Casselman will have to appear in L’Orignal court on April 8, 2015 to answer to the following charge:

CDSA 5(2) Poss of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking- under 3 kg

Theft

(Rockland, ON) On March 16, 2015 OPP Constable Joseph Barbe responded to a theft complaint at the Video People Store in Rockland. At that location the management reported that they suspected an employee was stealing money from the store. Their investigation led to suspect one employee in particular. The officer investigated the complaint and concluded that a theft had been committed.

Veronique, I. BELANGER, 19 years old from Rockland will have to appear in L’Original court on May 20, 2015 to answer to the following charge:

CC 334(a) Theft Over $5000

(Rockland, ON)

PROJECT PARADIGM IS A DRUG ENFORCEMENT TEAM COMPRISED OF OFFICERS FROM THE ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE DRUG ENFORCEMENT UNIT AND OPP DETACHMENTS IN EASTERN ONTARIO

(Rockland) On March 18th 2015, members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) – Project Paradigm executed a Search Warrant in the town of Rockland, the result of a joint investigation between members of the Russell OPP and Hawkesbury OPP Community Drug Action Teams.

Investigators seized cannabis marihuana, Canadian currency and drug trafficking equipment.

Daniel BELLEFEUILLE (18) and Chloe CHARETTE (18), both from Rockland, were arrested and charged with the following:

Daniel BELLEFEUILLE- Possession of a substance in Schedule 2 (cannabis marihuana) for the purpose of trafficking C.D.S.A. Section 5(2)

Chloe CHARETTE – Possession of a substance in Schedule 2 (cannabis marihuana) for the purpose of trafficking C.D.S.A. Section 5(2)

The accused were released on a promise to appear and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice of Ontario in L’Orignal, (ON) on May 6th 2015.
