(Township of Essa, ON)- On Sunday the 22nd of March 2015 at 5:50 p.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to a collision involing 3 vehicles on County Road 90 at the 5th Line in Essa Township.
The officers from the Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police investigated the collision and determined that a silver Honda car driven by a 56-year old female from Angus was stopped on County Road 90 at the 5th line, facing westbound when it was struck by a red Dodge van, driven by a 37-year old female from Angus. The rear-end collision, sent the Honda car into oncoming traffic that was travelling eastbound causing the vehicle to collide with a blue Toyota car driven by a 47-year old male from Barrie.
The female driver of the Honda car was transported to hospital with serious injuries, and remains in hospital. The other drivers were not transported to the hospital.
The investigation is continuing, and charges are pending.
