Stolen Vehicle Recovered – Two Charged

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment has charged two (2) area males after a vehicle previously reported stolen has been recovered at a Jarvis, Haldimand County, Ontario address.

On Saturday February 18, 2017 at 8:37 p.m., OPP responded to Main Street in Selkirk for a report of a stolen vehicle from a business. The vehicle was described as a grey Jeep style vehicle.

OPP investigation determined that unknown(s) entered the property on Saturday February 18, 2017 between 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. and removed the Jeep, driving it through, and damaging the security gates at the business before driving from the area.

On Sunday February 19, 2017, the vehicle was located at an address in Jarvis.

OPP spoke with a male at the address and investigation lead to an arrest.

Further investigation lead to a second male suspect involved who was also charged.

OPP has charged 21-year-old Joshua PATTERSON of Jarvis, Ontario with:

Theft under $5,000.00

Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.00

OPP has also charged 18-year-old Maxwell HICKS of Selkirk, Ontario with:

Theft under $5,000.00

Mischief under $5,000.00

They are to appear in Provincial Court Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charges.
