(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On February 22, 2017 at approximately 12:00 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting radar and monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near Laird Road in the City of Guelph. The officer observed a male driving a 2017 Audi travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 132 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
20-year-old Hao MENG of Guelph has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on March 15, 2017. His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
