Hall Of Shamer Arrested Again For Theft After Police Follow Footprints

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Once again fresh footprints in the snow proved to be the undoing for a Huron County resident following a police investigation that took place last weekend. On Friday, February 17, 2017 at 7:18 a.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to Mary Street in Clinton to check on an Arctic Cat snow machine that appeared to have been abandoned at the end of a residential driveway.

The investigating officer arrived on scene and located the damaged snow machine with the ignition key still in the machine. Leading away from the snow machine were a set of footprints in the snow. They were tracked to a nearby residence which ultimately led officer’s to the driver of the machine.

Upon further investigation officers confirmed the machine had been stolen the preceding day from a shed located on Front Road in Huron East. Investigators also noted the male suspect had been consuming alcohol and was out past his curfew in contravention of his probation order.

As a result the male was arrested and taken into custody. Catlin DAER, 26 years of age from Goderich has been charged with:

Break, Enter a Place and Commit Theft

Driving While Disqualified

Fail to Comply with Probation Order Five (5) Counts

He remains in custody with a video court appearance scheduled for February 28, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
