Serious Snowmobile Vs Snowmobile Collision Sends Two To Hospital

CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – On Friday January 22 at 10:30 pm the City of Kawartha Lakes Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with fire and EMS responded to a two-vehicle snowmobile crash on the trail just north of Bethany.

The crash involved two snowmobiles; each occupied by a sole driver. Transported from the scene with serious injuries were the drivers, Derrick WOOD, 29 years of age, of Bethany and William STEWART, 36 years of age, of Bowmanville. Both drivers were later transported to Toronto area hospitals.

The OPP’s Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) attended the scene to assist with the investigation. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor. The investigation is continuing.
