(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On January 23, 2016 at approximately 1:40 p.m., a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management – Highway Safety Division, Mount Forest, was conducting speed enforcement on Grey Road 9 in the Township of Southgate.
The officer stopped a vehicle travelling westbound on Grey Road 9 after the vehicle was found to be travelling at a speed of 140 km/hr in an 80 km/hr zone.
Erin Elizabeth KURT, age 20, of Waterloo, Ontario, was issued a summons for racing a motor vehicle under the Highway Traffic Act. She is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on March 7, 2016.
KURT’s driver’s licence was suspended for 7 days and her vehicle, a 2011 Toyota Matrix, was impounded for 7 days.
