(Herrick Twp., ON) Sault Ste. Marie OPP and Batchewana Police Service are continuing the search for a missing boater from Pancake Bay.
Fifty-five year old John Ross Lund of Victoria British Columbia left a residence on Pancake Shores Drive on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at approximately 10:00 am in an 8 foot aluminum rowboat.
Lund was last seen on the waters of Lake Superior at approximately 3 pm the same day.
OPP is requesting the public’s assistance in reporting any floating items that may be related to the search including; one bright orange lifejacket, 2 oars, a ziploc bag containing tobacco, a tan coloured toque, and black and yellow flip flops.
Search areas of interest include Pancake Bay, Batchewana Bay, Harmony Bay and Havilland Bay.
The search will continue through today.
OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit are enroute and will be assisting in the search.
