Update: Missing Elderly Man Located

(ORILLIA, ON) The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is happy to advise the public that the missing elderly man has been located and is back at his residence.

On September 13, 2013 in the evening hours, an elderly male resident of the Leacock Care Centre on Museum Drive in Orillia, had been reported missing.

The Orillia OPP received the report and issued a news release which included a description of the man and a request for assistance from the public.

Several OPP resources were utilized to search for the missing man. The OPP Canine Unit, OPP Helicopter, Emergency Response Team (ERT) and several officers on the ground were involved.

On Sunday, September 15, 2013 in the morning, police located the missing man in the area of the Orillia Square Mall on Brodie Drive in Severn Township.

Paramedics attended to check on his condition. After being accessed he was returned to his residence.

Police want to thank the members of the public for their assistance.
