Robert MACDONALD – Race Motor Vehicle

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On September 16, 2016 at approximately 7:57 p.m., a member of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting speed enforcement on Hwy 69 at the Key River construction zone. The officer observed a vehicle pulling a trailer, passing other motor vehicles and traveling more than 50 km/h over the posted speed limit. A traffic stop was conducted. As a result of the stunt driving, the vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days and the driver had his driver’s licence suspended for 7 days.

Driver of the motor vehicle, Robert MACDONALD, 64 years of age from Caledon was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle – Excessive Speed, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

He will appear before the Parry Sound Provincial Offences Court on November 22, 2016 to answer to his charge.

Every person convicted of Race a Motor Vehicle is liable to a fine of not less than $2,000 and not more than $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term of not more than six months, or to both, in addition to his or her driver’s licence being suspended.
