(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to 193 calls for service during the past week.
Domestic Disputes/Assaults
During the past week officers from the Renfrew OPP investigated six domestic disputes, nine family disputes and one sexual assault. No charges were laid.
Break and Enters
Police responded to five Break and Enters this past week, two break and enters occurred on Matawatchan Road and Centennial Lake Road in Greater Madawaska Township, a Remington .177 caliber pump action pellet gun was stolen. And, three occurred in Arnprior on Carss Street and McLachlin Street South and Galvin Street, suspect(s) stole Canadian currency, coins and jewlery were stolen.
Motor vehicle Collisions
The Renfrew OPP investigated twelve collisions during the past week.
Police are reminding the public of fraudulent scams that are being received in the mail, by telephone or by fraudulent e-mails, webpages or scammers at your door. The simple fact is you should be wary of anyone who is requesting your cash, credit card, banking information or social insurance numbers. They are trying to steal your money, or trick you into parting with it. If you have been scammed please report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. They keep statistics on the types and frequency of frauds, and can assist with prevention information, and will work with police if there are suspects.

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to 295 calls for service during the past week.
Domestic Disputes/Assaults
During the past week officers from the Renfrew OPP investigated 10 domestic disputes, 9 family disputes and one sexual assault. One person was charged in relation to a domestic investigation. Renfrew OPP also responded to 5 assaults.
On the 15th of May 2015, police responded to a call on Veterans Memorial Boulevard in Renfrew. As a result of an assault investigation, Cody Arbour (22) of Renfrew was charged with assault with a weapon, fail/refusing to provide a breath sample and for failing to comply with an Undertaking. Arbour was released on a Promise to Appear and is set to appear in court on the 8th of July 2015.
On the 19th of May 2015, police responded to an assault on Caruso Street in Arnprior and as a result of an investigation have charged Tyler Gervais (20) of Arnprior with assault. Gervais was also released on a Promise to appear.
Break and Enters/Thefts
Police responded to four Break and Enters this past week and 14 thefts. Between the 11th of May and the 12th of May 2015, a Bobcat skid steer was stolen from a construction site at Hall Avenue and Raglan Street South at the Mac’s Milk location. The Bobcat was later recovered in Ottawa but anyone with any information can contact P/Cst Holmes of the Renfrew OPP.
Between the 1st of May and the 12th of May 2015, a generator was stolen from a residence on Ferguslea Road Admaston Bromley Township. It is a Champion 4000 watt generator, yellow in colour. P/Cst Caouette is investigating.
Also between the dates of the 10th-14th of May 2015, three cottages were broken into on Morrow Lake Road in Greater Madawaska Township. P/Cst Bennett is investigating.
A dog owner on Patterson Road in Admaston Bromley Township believes his dog “Piper” a collie/retriever mix was stolen from his property. Piper was last seen on the 4th of May 2015.
On the 13-14th of May 2015, on Burns Road in McNab Braeside Township, a 14ft enclosed utility trailer was stolen. It’s a 2007’ , United 712 beige in colour with a black top with the wording “Marathon Contracting” on the side of it and bearing an Ontario licence plate # D2608T.
On the 11th of May 2015, a theft occurred on Vancourtland Street in Arnprior. A Cervelo carbon bicycle was stolen valued at over $7000.00 The bicycle has “Reynolds” written on it and has carbon wheels and quark power meter pedals and is black in colour.
Motor vehicle Collisions/Impaired Drivers
The Renfrew OPP investigated 19 collisions during the past week.
On the 14th of May 2015, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Castleford Road in Horton Township. The collision is still under investigation.
