(SYDENHAM, ON) – Today, October 24, 2013, at approximately 1:40pm, Bell Canada advised the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Provincial Communications Centre (PCC) in Smiths Falls of a fiber optic cut in the Village of Sydenham.
As a result, phone lines, both landline and cellular, using the 613-376-XXXX exchange may be affected.
Home and business owners can expect the outage to last up to 8 hours.
In the event of an emergency, those affected are asked to go to their nearest emergency services provider (ambulance, fire or police) to request assistance for any emergency service. Emergency Services do have communication capabilities.
The cause of the cut is not known at this time. Updates will be provided as they are known.
