(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On Sunday, October 20, 2013, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a Grey Highlands man after he had committed a series of offences in the Municipality of Meaford.
It started on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at approximately 8:15 a.m., when police received a report of a damaged stop sign at the intersection of Grey Road 12 and the 7th Line. Shortly after, police received a report of a stolen 1995 Honda 52S all-terrain vehicle (ATV) from a residence on the 7th Line. While searching the area, a damaged WHITE 30-3168689 farm tractor was located behind the Riverside Community Centre on the 7th Line. The tractor was confirmed to be stolen. While conducting their investigation, police located the stolen ATV, at which time they received a report of a residential break in on the Euphrasia-St. Vincent Townline.
With the assistance of several area residents, police were able to identify the suspect, who eventually turned himself into the Meaford OPP Detachment.
Brandon GOUDIE-SCACE, 20, of the Municipality of Grey Highlands, was charged with the following criminal offences: theft over $5,000 of a motor vehicle; break and enter into a dwelling and theft under $5,000 of a motor vehicle. He was also charged with fail to remain under the Highway Traffic Act.
He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on December 12, 2013.
