(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – A male driving erratically from a local drive-in theatre is now facing charges after being stopped by police.
On August 9, 2014 at approximately 1:05 a.m. Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol in the area of Wilton Grove Road and Westchester Bourne in the Municipality of Thames Centre when they observed a vehicle driving erratically after it exited the local drive-in.
When the vehicle stopped for police, it was apparent the driver had been drinking. A roadside test was conducted and the driver registered a fail. The driver was arrested and transported for further tests.
As a result of the investigation, police have charged Paul ERDELY, age 51 with the following:
Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol – Criminal Code of Canada
Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance – Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act
Drive Motor Vehicle With Open Contain of Liquor – Liquor Licence Act
Novice Driver – Blood Alcohol Concentration Above Zero – Highway Traffic Act
Novice Driver – Fail to Surrender Licence – Highway Traffic Act
Use Validation Not Furnished for Vehicle – Highway Traffic Act
Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle – Highway Traffic Act
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in a London courtroom to speak to the charges.
