(Napanee, ON)- On Sunday, August 7, 2016 after 4 p.m. a concerned motorist contacted the Napanee detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reporting a white Dodge Ram pick-up with a boat trailer in the bed of the truck being driven excessively fast and passing vehicles in a dangerous manner. The caller indicated the vehicle was travelling northbound on County Road 8, Town of Greater Napanee.
An officer with the Napanee OPP, who was re-fueling his police vehicle at a gas station on Centre Street, noticed the suspect vehicle pull into the gas station. The officer subsequently arrested the male driver for over 80 after the man failed a roadside alcohol screening device test.
Charged with over 80 mgs and dangerous driving is 28 year-old Patrick NOLAN of Courtice.
He was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on August 23, 2016.
