During the week of the 1 August 2016, to the 7 August 2016, there were 105 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.
There were thirteen motor vehicle collisions, eight were animal related.
There was one domestic dispute call for service during the week of the 1 August 2016, to the 7 August 2016. There were no domestic related incidents involving criminal code charges.
Collisions
On the 01 August 2016 at approximately 6:31p.m., Whitney OPP A/Sgt Mike Holbrook responded to a collision involving a moose on Highway #60, Algonquin Provincial Park. A pickup truck was towing a boat and trailer when it struck a moose causing damages. There were no reported injuries.
On the 02 August 2016 at approximately 7:12 a.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Jon Anderson received a report of a single vehicle collision on Highway # 28, Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Twp. A pickup truck towing a trailer was lodged in the ditch. The roadway was temporarily closed while emergency services removed the vehicle. There were no reported injuries. The vehicle was towed. No charges laid.
On the 05 August 2016 at approximately 2:42 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Ryan Lapierre received a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway # 60 and Simpson Pit Road, Killaloe Hagarty and Richards Twp. Renfrew County Ambulance attended the scene, and transported one female to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle was towed. This incident remains under investigation.
On the 07 August 2016 at approximately 7:33 a.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Chris Teasdale received a report of a single motor vehicle collision with injuries on Highway # 60, Madawaska Valley Twp. A Toyota swerved to avoid a deer and stuck the guard rails. Renfrew County Ambulance was on scene, one female was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle was towed with extensive damages. The Ministry of Transportation was notified regarding the damaged guard rails.
Impaired Charge
On the 07 August 2016 at approximately 8:51 a.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Ryan Lapierre initiated a routine traffic stop on Highway # 60, Killaloe Hagarty and Richards Twp. Subsequent to police investigation, 54 yr. old Dominic HUDDER of Madawaska Valley Twp. has been charged with Impaired Operation, section 253(1)(a) and Over 80, section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada. Thea accused was released on a Promise to Appear, with a court date at the Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The license was suspended and the vehicle towed and impounded.
