Orillia Weekend Update

(ORILLIA, ON.) – Over the past weekend, the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received 101 calls for service. Police responded to calls received from Severn Township, Ramara Township, and the City of Orillia. The time frame is from Friday night at 6:00 p.m. until Monday morning at 6:00 a.m.

There were various calls for service consisting of noise complaints, alarms, 911 hang-ups, motor vehicle collisions, domestic/family disputes, Liquor Licence Act complaints, mischief complaints and impaired drivers.

On September 20, 2015 at approximately 2:21 a.m., the Orillia OPP was dispatched to a possible impaired driver on Highway 12 in the City of Orillia. Officers located the vehicle on Highway 12 near Memorial Avenue and the female driver was arrested at the scene.

Jeannine LEBLANC, 42 years old of Barrie, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80 mgs Blood/Alcohol. She was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia court on October 6, 2015.

On September 21, 2015 at approximately 2:30 a.m., the Orillia OPP was dispatched to a possible impaired driver on Highway 11 in the City of Orillia. Officers stopped the vehicle on Highway 11 at Coldwater Road and the male driver was arrested.

Peter HERON, 29 years old of Orillia, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80 mgs Blood/Alcohol. He was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia court on October 13, 2015.
