(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On March 20, 2014 at approximately 1:30 a.m. members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 400 in Carling Township when they observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.
On initial contact, the driver identified himself verbally to police. Upon further investigation, police determined that the driver was using a fake name.
Habib Omar KAKRA-KOUAME, 28 years of age from Sudbury, was charged with the following:
– Fail to Comply With Probation Order, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC);
– Obstruct Peace Officer, contrary to the CCC;
– Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marijuana, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
– Speeding, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA);
– Drive While Under Suspension, contrary to the HTA.
The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice Parry Sound.
