OPP EXECUTE DRUG WARRANT

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – On March 10, 2014 officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence on Lake Dalrymple Road.

As a result of the warrant approximately 50 marihuana plants were seized along with $880.00 in Canadian currency. Further investigation resulted in a second CDSA warrant being executed at a residence on Lift Lock Road.

At this location approximately 150 plants were seized. Each plant has an approximate street value of $1 000.

As a result of the investigation Norman INGRAM, 44 years of age, of the former Carden Township, was arrested and charged with the following CDSA offences:

Two counts of production of a controlled substance

One count of production for the purpose of trafficking

One count of proceeds of crime, contrary to the Criminal Code

The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay on April 10, 2014.

The investigation is continuing and it is expected that a second person will be charged with drug related offences.
