(PETAWAWA, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit and the Upper Ottawa OPP Detachment have arrested and charged a Pettawawa man following a child sexual abuse investigation.
On August 7, 2014, police arrested Thomas Weldon FIELD, 24 years-old of Petawawa, Ontario after receiving a complaint that he was engaged in an unlawful text conversation with an 11 year-old boy.
The accused is charged with one count of Internet Luring of a Child and one count of Invitation To Sexual Touching. The accused was held in custody awaiting a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on August 8, 2014.
The investigation is continuing.
