(CALEDON, ON) – During the week of November 29th to December 6th, officers from the R.I.D.E. (Reducing Impaired Driving Everywhere) Team and Patrol Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted 27 R.I.D.E. spot checks at various locations within the Town of Caledon.
Charges and Suspensions:
– 26 Approved Screening Device Tests (Drivers who consumed alcohol but breath
samples were less than 50 mgs)
– 2 – Three-Day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspensions
– 3 Impaired Operation/Over 80/Care and Control arrests
Impaired/Over 80/Refuse or Fail to Provide Sample Arrests made during the above-mentioned week:
-On November 30th, Leah DURIGON, 22, from Caledon was charged with the offence of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80 mgs., contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
-On December 6th, Indardeo RAGHUBANS, 34, from Brampton was charged with the offence of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80 mgs., contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
-On December 6th, Jeffrey Mark McLAY, 30, from New Lowell was charged with the offence of Refuse to Provide a Breath Sample and Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
