More Impaired Drivers Busted

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police arrested two drivers over the weekend, for impaired driving offences.

The first driver, Kevin CARTER, 40 years of age of Fenelon Falls, was arrested after a single vehicle collision and investigation that occurred on Bond Street in Fenelon Falls at approximately 2:19 am July 9, 2016. He was subsequently charged with the following offences:

Driving While Ability Impaired by Drug and Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)

Driving With More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the CCC

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on August 4, 2016.

The second driver, Aaron BALL, 19 years of age of Whitby, was arrested after a traffic stop on County Road 121 in the former Fenelon Township on July 10, 2016 at approximately 2:58am. An investigation was commenced by the officer and the driver was subsequently charged with the following offences:

Driving With More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the CCC

Novice Driver with Blood Alcohol Above Zero contrary to section 44.1(3) of The Highway Traffic Act (HTA)

Improper Use of Spot lamp contrary to section 62(22) of the HTA

Driving Motor Vehicle With Open Container of Liquor contrary to section 32(1) of The Liquor Licence Act

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on August 11, 2016.
