Methamphetamine Bust – Two Charged

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA, ON) – On July 31, 2015 at approximately 4:10 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attempted to stop a grey Dodge Dakota on Wellington County Road 124, for a Highway Traffic Act violation. The driver proceeded to drive the motor vehicle into a private property. Police stopped the motor vehicle and spoke with the driver and passenger.

Investigation revealed that the driver, Garett VANCE, age 33 of Arran-Elderslie, was operating the vehicle while disqualified. He was charged with Driving while Disqualified x3 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. A search of the vehicle located a quantity of meth and oxycodone, as well as other drug paraphernalia. This resulted in further charges of Trafficking in Schedule 1 Substances – Methamphetamines and Trafficking in Schedule 1 Substance – Oxycodone, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act. He was further charged with Fail to Comply with Probation Order as well as 2 Highway Traffic Act offences. He was to appear in Guelph Criminal Court today to answer to the charge.

The female passenger in the vehicle, Terry Ann GIBSON age 39 of Durham, was also charged with Trafficking in Schedule 1 Substance – Methamphetamine and Trafficking in Schedule 1 Substance – Oxycodone. She is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on September 1, 2015 to answer to the charge.
