McCOLMAN – Drunk Driving

(THESSALON FIRST NATION, ON) – On March 26, 2016 at 12:31 a.m., the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed an unoccupied Off Road Vehicle (ORV) running in the parking lot of a business on Thessalon First Nation. Police later saw the ORV on Biish Road and a traffic stop was conducted.

While speaking with the driver, the police determined that the male driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages.

As a result of the investigation, Walker McCOLMAN, 20 years of age, from Thessalon First Nation, ON, was arrested and charged with:

Driving While Ability Impaired – Motor Vehicle (Alcohol), contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code;

Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code;

Novice Driver – B.A.C. (Blood Alcohol Content) above zero, contrary to section 44.1(3) of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River, on May 5, 2016.
