(ELGIN COUNTY) – With the large amount of snowfall received across the county in the last 12hours the Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is not recommending travel on local roads and highways.
Most secondary and many primary roads are impassible at this time and some drivers that have ventured out have become stuck. In some areas intersections have become blocked with stranded vehicles making it difficult for emergency vehicles to get to their destination.
Snow removal crews are working hard to clear the roadways but are being hampered by stranded vehicles. Please allow snow removal crews time to get the roads cleared before attempting travel.
For road conditions please do not contact OPP dispatch but rather call the Ministry of Transportation;
