Magdalena SMIECHOWSKI – Drunk Driving

(THAMES CENTRE, ON)- On Sunday September 1, 2013 at 3:26 a.m. members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an investigation at the Polish Soccer Club located on Hamilton Road, Thames Centre. During the course of the investigation police located a female driver leaving the property. A traffic stop was conducted and police confirmed that the driver had been drinking. The driver was placed under arrest for Impaired Driving and transported to the London OPP Detachment for further tests.

As a result of an investigation police have charged a female, Magdalena SMIECHOWSKI, age 38 of London, ON with:

Impaired Driving- 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)
Fail to Provide Breath Sample- 254(5) CC
Having liquor in open container in other than licenced premises, residence or private place- 31(2) of the Liquor Licence Act (LLA)
Driving While Under Suspension- 53 of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)

The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA) and is scheduled to appear in a London Court room on Thursday October 10, 2013 to speak to the charges.
