LABOUR DAY LONG WEEKEND WRAP UP – Middlesex

(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) – The Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was kept busy over the long holiday weekend with over 160 calls for service. Along with those front line calls for service, officers were out in force looking for those who put lives at risk on our roadways. Again this long holiday weekend officers were on the lookout for the “BIG FOUR” factors including impaired driving, seatbelts, aggressive driving and distracted driving.

This weekend the Middlesex OPP laid numbers traffic related offences including:

Speeding Offences – 71

Seatbelt Offences – 2

Distracted Driving Offences- 1

Impaired Driving Offences – 3

Drug Related Offences – 2

Other Highway Traffic Act (HTA) Offences – 20

Hazardous Moving Violations – 5

Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA) Offences – 3
