(Bancroft, Ontario) – On the 20th of October 2014, the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received the report of a vehicle theft from a residence on Harley Road in the Town of Bancroft. A GMC pickup truck had been stolen from a driveway. On the 21st of October the pickup truck was located burned on a trail near Oak Street in the Town of Bancroft.
Investigation into the incident resulted in the Bancroft OPP conducting a search warrant at a residence on Sherbourne Street North in the Town of Bancroft on the 19th of November.
19 year old Jonathon VITITOE of Bancroft, Ontario was arrested and has been charged with:
Theft under $5000 – 2 counts
Arson
Possession of marihuana for the purposes of trafficking
He has been released from custody on a promise to appear with conditions and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft, Ontario on the 13th of January 2015.
