(KENORA, ON) Members of the Kenora OPP charged two impaired drivers on the weekend. On Friday, January 24, 2014 shortly after 9:00 pm, police were conducting a RIDE program on Ninth St North in Kenora. Police determined a male driver had been consuming alcohol and he was arrested after failing the roadside screening device. As a result of this investigation, 41 year old Lawrence RICKLEFS of Kenora has been charged with Driving With Over .80 mg of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood. He was released and is to appear in Kenora Court on February 27, 2014 to answer to the charge.
Police charged another driver on Friday, January 24, 2014 at approximately 11:30 pm following a report of a possible impaired driver at on Highway 17 East in Kenora. Police attended and located the vehicle and determined the male driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported for tests. As a result of the investigation 39 year old Dennis SKEID of Wauzhusk Onigum First Nation has been charged with Impaired Driving and Driving with Over .80 mg of Alcohol in 100 ml of Bloody Contrary to the Criminal Code. He is to appear in Kenora Court on February 27, 2014 to answer to the charge. He has also been charged with Driving Under Suspension Contrary to the Ontario Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Kenora Court on March 6, 2014 to answer to the charge.
