(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the driver of a vehicle that fled the scene after having struck a pedestrian in the village of Flesherton, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands around 5:50 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2016.
The pedestrian was standing on the northwest corner of Sydenham Street and Durham Street. Once the “walk” signal activated, the pedestrian began to cross Durham Street. A pick-up truck accelerated making a left turn onto Durham Street from Toronto Street and struck the pedestrian who was thrown some distance by the force of the impact.
The vehicle failed to stop and render assistance to the victim. The 49-year old Flesherton woman was taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The vehicle, described as an older Dodge Ram heavy duty pick-up truck, blue/teal in colour, was last seen going westbound on Durham Street.
The driver of the suspect vehicle was described as a Caucasian male, 50-60 years of age, with short grey hair, tanned skin.
The passenger was described as a Caucasian male, in his late 20’s or early 30’s, heavy set, full beard.
